It’s being reported that Ryan Matthews will sign with the Eagles after all. DeMarco Murray has been at the NovaCare Complex since 3:00 pm and is expected to sign officially tonight. This gives the Eagles the best backfield in the NFL.
I feel a little bad for Chris Polk, but, I think the Eagles are gearing up to be the most effective running team in the NFL.
With Darren Sproles already in the mix, the birds will be able to come at defenses with thunder, lighting, and a hurricane! Chip Kelly’s plan is finally starting to take shape. Improve the defense, and become a run first football team. It seems like Kelly learned his lesson last year, after watching his defense take way to many snaps.
Yes, I understand that DeMarco Murray was not in the plans initially, but, give the Eagles credit for acting fast and making the push to bring him to philly. With that said, Matthews must have been in the fold all a long. I’m sure a focal selling point for Murray was to cut back his touches. It’s cause for concern that both players have an injury history. With that said, the Eagles sports science program should help them stay healthy.
It’s being rumored that Eagles guard Evan Mathis is on the trading block and he’s being shopped for a wide receiver. So, the Eagles could be focusing on the O-Line in the draft. All I have to say, is what a difference a day makes!! What’s next? we have no idea with Chip Kelly in charge.
